🔥 Hot out of the Oven: The Baking Sheet – Issue #308
This Week in the Tezos Ecosystem:
➡️ Building for the Culture – Tezos highlighted a collection of community-built preservation tools helping safeguard NFT media, metadata, and digital history. Projects from Jack Tezos, NFTBiker, fafo_lab, flexasaurusrex, and JestemZero are making it easier for collectors and creators to preserve artwork for the long term.
➡️ Ushuaia Enters Cooldown – The next Tezos protocol upgrade successfully cleared Exploration with both quorum and supermajority support. The proposal now enters its 10-day Cooldown phase before the final Promotion vote, bringing features like a 15x DAL bandwidth increase, dynamic attestations, tz5 groundwork, and future staking infrastructure one step closer to activation.
➡️ Open Worlds at Museum of the Moving Image – Artists, collectors, and community members gathered in New York for an afternoon exploring generative art, performance, and digital culture with Travess Smalley, OONA, and Edgar Fabián Frías.
➡️ “To Be Perceived, Against Evil” Opens at MoMI – A new commission from Linda Dounia and Rhea Myers is now on view, exploring privacy, visibility, and the “right to opacity” through encrypted participation and Tezos smart contracts. The installation runs through August 2.
➡️ Now Streaming: Arthur Breitman on TzEL – This week’s TezTalks Radio dives into TzEL, post-quantum cryptography, private payments, rollups, and the long-term privacy challenges facing blockchain systems.
