Zilliqa 2.0 is coming — and with it, a new era begins ⌛️
We’ve heard your questions and understand the excitement (and confusion) around the migration. To help everyone prepare with confidence, we’ve put together a detailed FAQ — in both text and audio format.
We want this to be a smooth journey for everyone — so dive in, get informed, and step into Zilliqa 2.0 with clarity and confidence. Read on —
1. Zilliqa 1.0 will conclude at block 4770087, which will also mark the beginning of the migration to Zilliqa 2.0.
2. We expect to reach block height 4770087 by 4 AM UTC on June 23.
3. The migration will be completed a few days after June 23, following which the Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet will launch. A separate announcement will be made at that time.
4. Users holding ZIL in non-custodial wallets (e.g., ZilPay, Zillet, Torch, Moonlet, Atomic, Ledger etc.) do not need to take any action.
5. Users staking ZIL in a non-custodial wallet will need to:
Unstake their ZIL
Transfer it to an EVM-compatible wallet
Stake again via the new staking portal
There is no deadline to migrate staked Zil. However, you will not earn any staking rewards if you don’t migrate to the new staking platform.
6. A separate announcement will be made when it's time to unstake and restake using the new staking portal. Step-by-step tutorials will also be provided to ensure a smooth migration for staked ZIL.
7. Ecosystem partners such as Plunderswap, Torch Wallet, and Moonlet are developing custom-built tools to simplify the migration of staked ZIL, making it possible to migrate with just a few clicks. Follow their socials for updates and release announcements.
8. During the migration to Zilliqa 2.0, the following frontends will be temporarily disabled:
X-Bridge
Zillion
Otterscan (DNS name only)
ZQ1 Faucet
These services will be re-enabled once the Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet is live.
9. All major exchanges are supporting the migration, which means users holding ZIL on exchanges do not need to take any action.
10. Exchanges will pause ZIL deposits and withdrawals before the migration begins. They will resume the services once the Zilliqa 2.0 mainnet is live and stable.
11. A countdown is live now at
12. If you need face any issue or have any questions, support will be available via:
